Voting is complete: Congratulations Omar Fathy!
Hi all,
Phase one, two and three of the Forums Banner Challenge were awesome!
We're starting a new phase of the challenge for you to share your creative talent with others.
Congratulations to the previous winners, we've really enjoyed having a nice looking banner here for the Photoshop community!
Incase anybody missed the previous challenges --
Phase 4: Design! Submit! Vote!
Purpose: Create a fresh Photoshop Forums Banner for the Photoshop forums overview page.
How to participate:
Details: Use the above template design as a starting point for your designs which will help you position your imagery so it won’t be covered by the forum's CSS banner elements:
Please keep all submissions Photoshop-related (Photoshop UI is OK to use), safe for work, and use image content you have the rights to (do not use any copyrighted images).
Timeframe: Post your design(s) to this thread, and voting will begin near the end of September 2018. The chosen winner's design will be featured in the Photoshop Forums which is seen by over 35,000 people each month!
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Good luck!
Regards,
Adobe Social Team

I really like the current banner Sahil. I think it is the most professional of the winning designs to date. It's been up for a very long time though, and I was wondering when we'd see another challenge. Time to start putting some thought into some new ideas. If you are new to this, then it will be highly recommended that you read through the earlier threads, as there is useful information about layout and how to use and interpret the template. We had a lot of fun in those threads. Especially the first one where some tongue-in-cheek animations were put up.

I was just thinking that this thread had got lost and forgotten Sahil. It might be that the people who typically had a go in previous banner challenges, are finding a creative outlet in the Something For The Weekend threads. Can you clarify the cut off date, or consider extending it a wee bit? Pete did that for the last one if my memory is right. Omar's entry is excellent and really works — although I thought I was looking at a flash rack of electronic equipment when I fist parsed it — but it would be a pity for this round to close with only the one entry.

Sahil - Can you clarify please, I love Omar's image but I thought there was a 30kB file size limit on entries? I've discarded some ideas here as they don't work well with such a low limit, so could happily make use of a higher limit.

Can we please extend the deadline? I just noticed this today. I don't think I can have anything ready by the 28th. I have real work to do....
If memory serves, the prior challenges gave us a month or more to collect as many entries as possible. What do the rest of you folks think?

I agree with Nancy. The thread slipped off the first page and got lost, so I don't know if it was the time of day it was posted, but it does look like most people missed it. I was thinking just yesterday, that I should find the thread and bump it. but Omar's post has made that unnecessary.
Dave, the current banner saved as a 119Kb file for me
And Omar's is definitely a bit busier saving to 158Kb
The original challenge did state 30Kb

Trevor, those dimensions are wrong. Banners should be 1501 x 151 px.

@Sahil.Chawla Please tell me if you increase the file size up to 30 kb to edit my design or make another idea.
I tried to optimize my design to make it 30 kb without losing quality so tell me to increase it.

Now it's getting even more confusing the first post clearly states 1150 x 150 pixels at 30kB as does the linked template , yet the discussions are talking about 1400x150 and 1501 x 151px.
Sahil.Chawla can you please confirm the pixel dimensions and file size required, so that we can ensure our entries can meet those requirements

Hi everyone,
The last date for the banner challenge has been extended to October 12, 2018. Please submit all your designs by the deadline, as the voting will begin soon after.
Also, the required file size can be more than 30 KB as long as the width and height of the banner remains the same.
Thanks,
Sahil

I think it is not fair to extend the challenge and change the file size

I suspect you'll still be in with a better than average chance. That's a nice graphic you have submitted. If I was being super picky, the two very bright areas pull the eye away from the important content, and are a wee bit distracting.

Sorry, I sent the wrong file (before optimization) in my post.
Thanks Trevor.Dennis for your note!
It is the 30 kb design:

Just for clarity Omar, I really do like your design. It would be great if the file size limit stated in the original post could be raised to use use it and other detailed entries.

I think that 30KB files size limitation is outdated. If you look at other forum banners, file size is significantly bigger.
