I'm missing some of the new things in PS21: like the new select tool or the "remove background" in the quick actions.
I suppose there will be another update soon, but I would just like to bring this to your attention, Adobe!
Just to add to Ged's comments on the Remove background tool, the Select Object tool may not be visible. If you have a custom toolbar , the update will not overwrite it. To see the select object tool - click on the three dots in the toolbar (or use Edit>Toolbar) and then Restore Defaults

the properties panel opens standard too small to show everything.... it's as simple as that.
There is no indication that there is more to see, but if I make the properties panel a little wider then the "remove background" gets visible. there it is!

Same with me, that was "the" incredible 'new' feature, but it does not show in 'Tools'. I did change the language from Dutch to English, but didn't work aswell... Is this a 'Bug' in Dutch, or is my iMac to old? end 2013?

I just found out that in customizing the toolbar (three dots) you can find the tool there and swipe it into the selectionpart and than it is done...

I've just updated my Photoshop to version 21 (English) and I too do not have the 'remove background' feature in the quick actions? There is also no mention of it in the interactive 'Learn' panel? Very frustrating!

Hi
It's showing up for me on Windows 10, Photoshop 2020, you need to have a layer selected in order to see it in the properties panel
No layer selected

Thanks for that Ged!
I had the layer selected but it was locked. Once I unlocked it the 'remove background' feature became available.

Still, the quick actions don't show up. There should be something I must click or shake or whatever 😉layer selected

Try resetting your Photoshop preferences, you may want to backup your custom settings beforehand

"There is no indication that there is more to see"
The scroll bar is an indication that there is more to see

Don't get confused, the scroll bar is full when the width is too small to show the 'remove background' button. There is no horizontal scroll bar, just the vertical one. I suppose that the Dutch translation is a bit too wide, comparing:
remove background
achtergrond verwijderen
it's as simple as that 🙂

I can see I'm going to have to do a bit of exploring on this new version.
