Eraser tool not flowing

My eraser tool will only erase one dot (or just the shape of the brush, see photo) at a time. I hold to drag  it and it doesn't flow at all. I click on click and erase. I've reset the tools mutiple times. Same thing happens with the brush tool. Here is a pic of my settings. I've found no answers online but "reset tool" and it hasn't worked for me.

There's a Brush Settings panel... check there. Or choose a different Eraser preset.

This helped me:

Brush settings > Spacing "unchecked"

Window > Brush Settings > Brush Tip Shape > Spacing > 1%.
