There are few components missing.

You can install the individual components separately.

For  Adobe Media Player: http://www.adobe.com/products/mediaplayer/?promoid=DJDZD

For Adobe Air: http://get.adobe.com/air/?promoid=BUIGQ

For AdobeHelp: Inside the downloaded folder under "Payloads" folder You will find a folder named "AdobeHelp". Inside the folder you will find the installation file for Adobe Help.

i got a PM by someone named KarenStores, who said she worked

in the store, she asked me about my checksums on my download (if the files where correctly downloaded and not broken), they where (what i could see) correct and if so, we may have someone at (adobe?) who could help us get in contact with the devs (or what it now is called) or adress this problem to someone who could help us to solve it.

@rootadmin21- Are you also observing exit code 6 while installing. Can you please try to run "Microsoft_VC80_ATL_x86.msi" present inside "AdobePhotoshop12-English\payloads\Microsoft_VC80_ATL_x86" of your setup folder and let me know the results.

Note: This issue seems to be due to the inability of VC runtimes to run on machine with insufficient write previliges.Morover , we are in discussion with the first user who faced this  problem.

This is a permissions issue. The user you're logged in as, compounded

by a program error does not  have enough permissions to run the MSI installation programs. There are more than ten of them.

I had the same problem until I followed the instructions on the first page of this thread and PS 32 an 64 installed successfully, some other software like Adobe Air and Help still had errors but I can run PS without problems. Here's what I did.

After the download I ran the Photoshop_12_LS1.exe program and told it to place the installation folder on the Desktop. After this, I started Windows Explorer, pointed to the CS5 folder on the Desktop and did a search on ".MSI".  All the MSI installation files came up by themselves. I then started at the top, and one by one right clicked on them and selected "Run as Administrator". The files that were not already installed ran through the installation straight through. Apparently I had some of them already installed and the install program gave me three options, I chose the "Repair Installation" option for those. They also ran all the way through. The last two in the list did not run but the were not "VC" files and I got a message to run those through the normal "Setup.exe" program - no problems there.

Once finished with all the MSI files, I went in the CS5 folder and right clicked on "Setup.exe" and ran it as Administrator. I selected Install Trial, although I already have my Registration key. Both PS 32 and 64 installed. After I started PS  I entered my Registraion Key and everything has been fine so far.

Hope this helps,

Best,

Jose

Try installing the newest microsoft visual C++ redistributable package first

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/confirmation.aspx?familyId=bd512d9e-43c8-4655-81bf-9350143d5867&displayLang=en (x64)

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=a7b7a05e-6de6-4d3a-a423-37bf0912db84 (x86)

Tried this when I notice that some of the reg keys are not available at my regedit. So I lurk around and see if there's any other software that might be suffer from this as well.

Now after installing it I manage to install all the .msi files without much problem.Same goes to the CS5 installation process afterwards.Feels good man

We would like to have a look into the machine of users who are facing permission issue. It will help us in narrowin down the exact root cause to the point and provide its solution.

So far it has been traced out to permission issue becase of which VC runtimes are not able to install. Please send email to my id if you are online and willing to setup a session.

Thanks..

You might want to look closely at how the CS5 setup.exe program handles trying to overwrite VC files that are already installed in the user's machine. Seems to me that this would be where permissions would be required. I had about four or five of those come up when I installed the VC files separately.

Best,

Jose

Also no luck for me, tried everything.... registry editing, moving setup files, redownloading entire package, changed permissions... still a no go.

FAPP, wiping the HD clean and starting with a new installation of Win7 seems advisable, although odious.I would also try to eliminate any HW issues. Check the HD for errors, and do a RAM test with Mem86 for starters.

You might also want to go back to an earlier Restore point.

I would second that so long as the person really knows what they are doing.

On the many platforms and OS's I have run validation exercises, re-install the OS was de rigueur. But then, we had few programs and apps to re-install so it wasn't a big deal. (But then, I was being paid to do it so it's "Yes boss, whatever you say boss! )

I am running CS5 on two OS's, XP and Win7 64 as dual boot and found no problems with installations. But for Win 7, I maintain a lean machine so I can re-install if necessary. XP, well, it's been on my machine since Columbus was a midshipman!

Again, look to ram, hd and possibly the video card for problems as well.

none of those sollution work for my case...

from registry editing to that visual c++ 2010 installation.

i am using windows 7 32bit.

my installation always stuck here:

wont.png

why?

and no offense,

my question, why adobe installation is so annoying?

it always extracting first before installation goes by (2 step: extracting and installing).

why don't you guys create a normal installer?

after installing the VC package try transfer all the installer data into your OS drive. Then afterwards try to install the .msi files one by one and see if you still got any prob with it.
