Problem:

Tried exporting artboards to files in PS CC and got a cryptic error popup (see error screenshot below)

What I tried so far:

- moving a layer over so it was not cut off by the artboard bounds

- Restarting PS

- Making sure no layers or artboards were selected in the layers panel

- Trying other settings for the export options dialog

Supporting screenshots:

Settings used (replaced destination and file name with dummy text for this screenshot)

After clicking OK

Adobe, if you're listening, please consider fixing the code that outputs the error message shown above so the remaining error text can be read (it seems to be cut off).

Thanks for any assistance

I found the root cause of the issue.

The filename and path of at least one of the artboard exports was too long for Windows OS.

I am able to export all artboards successfully to the Desktop, as they are not nested within a bunch of folders and therefore the filename and path is acceptable to Windows.

The error message should still be fixed by Adobe so that it is not cut off / so it is easy to read and understand.

I am leaving this unsolved so Adobe sees the issue.
