Hi all,

Whenever I pick a format to save a file in, the file name remains .psd

Any clues?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

We apologize for the issue you are facing while trying to save the files through Photoshop.

Would you mind sharing the version of Photoshop you are currently using by going to the Help menu > System info?

Also, are you currently using a Mac or Windows and since when are you facing this issue?

You may try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps mentioned in the link below and then re-launching Photoshop to check if it helps.

https://helpx.adobe.com/in/photoshop/using/preferences.html

Regards,

Nikunj

I see you are currently using macOS 10.15 (macOS Catalina) which is currently in beta, right? Also, Photoshop the latest version of Photoshop is 20.0.6, so I would request you to update Photoshop to the latest version through the Creative cloud to check if that helps.

Okay. In that case the issue may be due to the macOS Catalina beta that you are currently running. Since the OS has not been made public, our applications are not optimized for the macOS yet hence there may be certain issues that you face on it while running the applications.

I think you mentioned you are on Catalina. The new forum Adobe upgraded to introduced alot of scrolling and am not seeing all 7 replies, even though i expanded all instances. Maybe I imagined seeing that, but hopefully they will work on the forums usability.

Thanks for the suggestions, I really appreciate it. I've just tried this also and it's not worked. It might be an issue with Catalina, so I'll just have to wait until the final release it out before I can tell now

Did you ever get this fixed? Mine is doing the same thing. It's not a huge deal because I can just go to Export as but it really is annoying. I am also on a Mac and did the recent update and my settings are also already as shown above. Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply! That really stinks. I guess I'll wait to see if some sort of update fixes it.

There are a few known issues with the Photoshop on macOS Catalina. You can check the details at the below mentioned link.

There has been an fix released by Apple an hour or so ago, not a dot version, but it might be wise to run software update, and report if it fixed the issue...
