File saving in Automation (Batch or Image Processor) not working in PS 24.3

New Here ,
Mar 26, 2023 Mar 26, 2023

In PS 24.3, file saving (as the same file) is not working when using batch or script automation. It has been fine under previous versions.

In File->Automate->Batch batch mode this manifests as an error on the first image.

In File-> Scripts->Image->Processor, it manifests itself by not closing the file automatically and you will end up with them all open in PS, potentially running out of memory (depending on the number of images) or getting an error listing the images an action cannot be performed on.

I have restored PS 24.2.1 and all is working as it should be.

Hi @garyt763764 check Preferences/File Handling - is Use Legacy Save As active? If not, check it and try again.
