New Here ,

Hi! I want to avoid embedding fonts into my project. Can fonts be embedded into PSD and PSB files? Is there some feature I need to turn off? Thank you!

No, fonts cannot be embedded in PSD, PSB, or TIFF files.

@calico_ you can't embed fonts in Photoshop - you can rasterize the text layer to preserve the font appearance though.

You can right-click on the text layer in the Layers panel and select Convert to Shape. Photoshop will convert the text to vector shapes which will preserve the quality of the glyphs better than rasterizing the text.

The big problem with converting to shapes or rasterizing text is that its no longer editable.

@Lumigraphics standard practice is to duplicate a text layer, flatten/rasterize/outline then hide the original for editing later.

The simple answer @calico_ is no - Photoshop does not have a feature to embed fonts.

@calico_ , why do you ask?

Is there a specific scenarion in which it seems necessary?
