fonts changing when i hover on fonts

im not talking about the text drop down.. the "samples" in the dropdown are fine, .. but it gets annoying on my eyes when im hovering my cursor over fonts, and the actual text on my document/canvas is changing depending on the font my cusour is hovering over. is there a fix to this? or a way to turn it off?

Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Character, Options Bar, …) visible?
