Hello everyone. I am making a mockup in Photoshop. I have just placed a linked vector logo from Illustrator. As soon as I hit cmd t to bring up free transform it distorts the images. Mind you this is before I try and click any of the handles. I've noticed the height and width settings in the tool bar are set to uneven percentages. How do I keep this from happening? Height and width should both be at 100 by default before I start transforming.

Hi COGordonW,
Sorry that object from Illustrator is getting distorted when you're placing and transforming it in Photoshop.
Please check that in Transform interpolation method is set to Nearest Neighbor.
Which version of Photoshop are you using? Also, what is the pixel size of the image that you have placed and how much are you transforming it?
Please help us with two screenshots, with Photoshop at 100% zoom, showing the image before using transform and immediately after accepting the transform you're applying.
Thanks,
Akash

Hi
Don't use nearest neighbour. Whilst it has its place in resing pixel art, for most images it will introduce ugly lines as there will be no anti-aliasing.
When you say hitting Ctrl/Cmd+T to bring up transformation the values in the options bar are already distorted what are those values and are they any different to those when you placed the image. I sometimes see a small fraction of a % difference on placing e.g. 100.05% and 100.10% . If you click the link button between them this sets both to the same value.

As Dave wrote are you sure that you did not distort the vector Logo during Place? The Smart Object Associated transform would have been created during the Place Linked operation..... I only see Photoshop set a difference in the width and height setting in the point 0 hundredth of a percent value. Some math rounding may be involved there IMO. The two transform setting are for all piratical purpose they are the same.

It looks like there were some preset transform settings in the tool bar. Im not sure why by once I cleared those out everything went back to normal. I don't know why those settings were off.
