What I have seems to be a pdf made from the original cad file. Its pretty clean however no vectors. There isnt any noise and its of a reasonable resolution.

What I'm working off of seems to be a rasterized version of the orignal cad. That's why I was surprised it trace well. The lines are very clean, and there are fewer than 3 different shades of black.

Hi, I am recreating a large floor plan. I thought this might be a great job of image trace since I had a very clean digital pdf of the floor plans and every thing is either black or a single shade of grey. All lines are mostly straight with a few exceptions for door icons. However I am getting terrible results. Most of the image disappears and there are no straight lines, only blobs. I've go through all the presets and tried many alteration with "Black and white logo" "Technical drawing" "LIne art" and "Greyscale" however I keep getting terrible results. Im a bit confused because, although large, the image is pretty simple. I am using Illustrator 2024 and I attempted to place the image both as a pdf and a jpeg. Any Ideas?

I was wrong. My computer is actually a late 2013 model. It is running big sur. I can load Lightroom 6.5, but I don't see an option for local or cloud on that version.

I am using a 2015 macbook pro and cannot update to the most current light room edition. You used to be able to select an older version in creative cloud manager. However that option doesnt seem to exist. Am I missing something?

I am going through some Lightroom tutorials, and I've noticed I don't have the option to choose between cloud and local browsing. I've made sure Lightroom has total disk access, but it is still not available.

I followed the instructions from CutMaster where it has you manually load their plugin into the plugins folder. However even their tech support has said they have had mixed results. They are working on a new version but it could be months. None of that is the issue though because I was able to just reinstall AI 2020 and then run the old plugin in just fine. However my mt AI20201 will not open any more and just gives the error I am attaching a screen shot of . What I need now is a way to cleanly uninstall AI 2021 so I can reinstall it. Every time I have tried there is 2021 folder that remains and causes the same problem to occur. I have tried to delete the folder manually but I am denied access even though I am the administrator. I know there used to be an adobe clean program but I dont know where to get it.

I work in a print shop and needed to add cutting master 4 to my illustrator 2021. In an attempt to follow to the manufactures instructions I did something that now keeps Illustrator from opening. I tried to uninstall 2021 and reinstall but it still cant open. I found that there is still a 2021 however I cant delete it even though I am the adminstrator of this computer. Is there a way to do a clean uninstall of 2021 so I can atleast reinstall open the program?

It's not file dependent. I have made blank documents with test excel files and it does the same on all of them. I thinkt it's got to be a setting somewhere. I was able to make it work like normal on a mac in the office. Here are some screen shots of what I am dealing with. The first shows me just inserting data merge variables The second is what happens when I place the cursor between the two variables and hit return. You'll notice the second variable is moved out of the text box as can be seen by the red plus sign in the text box. The third is to show the paragraph style is the "default style" The forth shows that that style as no extra line spacing applied. I've done dozens of datamerge jobs on macs and pcs. Ive never seen anything like this before. Could it be a setting on the computer it's self? This issue only happens with datamerge. When just typing in a text box the return functions normally.

Im having a wierd issue Ive never seen before. I create my text box and start inserting my variables. However when I place a variable and hit return the second line is completely off the page. I checked there is no spacing or leading setup that would cause this. I've tried multiple csvs and it keeps happening. I even tried to do a shift return and it still does it. Any ideas?

I was provided a prenumbered ncr document. It only has one of each page. Usually that wouldn't be a problem because I would just have the printer print multiple copies uncollated. However this time the printer needs each page as its own page not copy. Is ther any way to just make multiple copies of each page while maintaining the page order? Any help would be much appreciated.

I created a a numbered docuemtt using current page number in Indesign. Normaly for a four part NCR I would tell the printer to just turn off collate and print a quantity of four. However this time the printer needs to pull from differnt drawers so this will not work. I was wondering if there a way either in INdesign or Acrobat to just make four copies of each page. So in other words I would need four copies of page one followed by four copies of page two and so on.

Thanks for reply, You'll see in the screenshot that the numbering starts at 2 (which is what I want) then starts again. When I go to numbering and sections to try and fix it I get the error you'll see in the second screenshot. This very frustrating because this little problem is holding me back from sending a proof to the customer

I recently set up a flier. I used a single master page to create the page number and info at the bottom. I realized that I hadn't set it up with facing pages and the numbers didn't alternate to be in the lower right of each page. I tried to correct the problem by changing my document settings to facing pages and creating a new master page. Now my page numbering is all jumbled and whenever I try to edit where my numbering starts I get a warning that I'll be making duplicate page numbers. How do I fix this? I've tried getting rid of my old master page and creating new ones but that just further jumbles things. I just want to scrap the old numbers and start with new ones that maintain the number on the lower outside corner of the page. I am using Indesign CC 2020 on a mac

This sounds stupid but I am just trying to center type on an object. I've noticed when I do it's the type box it's self that gets aligned to the object and not the type. So for example, if you had all caps letters you would have a large space below where the ascenders for the lower case letters would be. Is there any way to center by the baseline? Or maybe just to the shape of the letters? I know you can outline the type and do it that way but I want to still be able to edit the type. I am using the latest version of Illustrator on a Mac running High Siera.

There use to be an icon on the control bar next to the minimize and maximize circles that allowed you to tile multiple objects. Did it move somewhere else or do you have to go to window to do that function now?

Every time I make a shape (Elipse, rectangle, polygon) the transform palette opens. I don't remember this happening in the past. Is there a setting I can choose to stop that? I am using the latest version of the illustrator on Mac running High Sierra.

The file was linked but wasn't on the pasteboard or any of the pages. When you chose to go to link nothing would happen. Once I saved it to IDML though the link disappeared. Wierd

I'm having an odd issue. I have a document I am updating. I have changing the font of some of the text from a free font to an official Typekit font. When I choose the font from the character panel I only see three different wieghts. There should be 13. I opned a new blank document and used that same font and all 13 wieghts show up. Whats going one. This is how the character panel looks on the file Im updating.
This is what the same font looks like on the new blank document. The other odd thing is that even on the long list the font is still missing many weights such as regular.
I am using Indesign CC 15.0.1 on an iMac running High Sierra.

I am reviewing an old packaged document. I can see there is a linked image missing. However, I can go to that image and there is no page associated with it. Well I originally didn't have a paragraph style applied. Once I made a style based on the text and checked the settings align to baseline grid was turned off. I tried cutting and copying the text box into the same document and it also overflowed. I had to adjust the type box to fit the type. The really weird thing is that when I put the new adjusted text box on top of the original the type still lines up even though the text box is larger. I really have no clue what is going on.

Where is a good place to check to see if the type is set to align to the baseline? I made a paragraph style based on the text it showed it wasn't set to align to baseline.
