Im having a weird problem pasting vector images in the InDesign 2020. When I paste the image it has a bounding box and not an image frame. When I resize the object using the bounding box the box remains the same but the object changes shape. It's not like a traditional image frame where I could fit to object or resize it to crop the object. It also looks different. You'll notice the strange dotted line. If I click on that line I can't resize or reshape it. The other weird thing is the object isn't centered in the frame. I've never seen this before. Is it a feature of 2020?

I am having an odd problem. When I place a linked vector smart image in my photoshop document and then try to scale it by pressing cmd t the graphic disappears. If I cmd click on the linked layer it says no pixels were selected. I am using PS 2020 on a macbook pro using Catalina.

It does look like that. I am currently following a tutorial from Lynda.com on Illustrator 2019. Thier version has a option for basic RGB. From what I can tell that seems to just be the default setting now. Kind of odd. I guess Illustrator is constantly updating though.

Hi Everyone, I am following a tutorial online and they instructed us to revert to the old New Document menu and then choose Basic RGB from the profile menu under the Name field. It looks like it's missing. Is that just a change in one of the new updates or am I just missing some thing?

It was getting stuck on a previous move's value. I think I found the solution. I was having the issue while using the selection tool. When I used the direct selection tool the move values updated.

Usually when I manually move an object with the selection tool and then click return the move options reflect the move I just did. This isnt working any more. Any ideas? I am using the newest version of Illustrator CC on a macbook pro running Catalina.

Im have an odd issue. I have smart guides on but it seems like often when I drag points they snap next to but not on other points. I've made sure that align to pixel grid isn't on and besides smart guides I have all other snap to options off. Does anyone know what might be happening? I can only fix the issue if I zoom in real close. I am using the most recent update of illustrator on a macbook pro runnin Catalina. Here is a screen shot of my view menu.

I am following along with a tutorial and it suggest using "Not Aligned to Pixel Grid" under Object in the Select menu. However that option doesn't show up on my computer. I am using Illustrator 23.1.1 on a macbook pro running Mojave 10.14.6.

So this is extremeley basic but I am struggleing to find an answer. If you are createing a path with smooth points and then deselect it how to do you continue the path without making a cusp point. Thats is I want the same handles I had when I was drawing the path in the first place. I know you can convert the point after making it but I am sure there is a way to do this in one step. Hello everyone, Ive created a logo for a client. They would like the logo in .pdf, .png, .jpg and the native .ai. and each in RGB, CMYK, Pantone. My question is when saving pdfs what is the best bay to insure the color modes stay unchanged. I know if I use High Quality Print it will convert the color mode to cmyk. Also what version of pdf is best for high quality print in the case of the CMYK pdf?

Hello everyone, I've been tasked with helping a company create a unified look. Currently they have logos with several color variations. I am hopping to find a color for them that translates well in cmyk, rgb and pantone. I know cmyk and rgb will never really match but is there a way of find colors that work better then others across all three gamets? I am editing their logo in Illustrator so I figured I would start by asking here. If any one has any recommendations for other resources please let me know.

I've noticed that when using my cursor it no longer turns white when I align with a guide. Similarly the direct select cursor doesn't have a back box by it when I select a text box. Is there some sort of preference to select to bring those things back?

I know when you open a menu that has ok, copy or cancle as an option you can use return for ok and option ok for copy. What is the keyboard shortcut for cancle. I cant find these shortcuts on any list.

I believe I have solved the issue. If I select the custom shape in Photoshop with the direct selection tool I can then paste it into Illustrator as a compound shape.

I am trying to paste it as a compound shape, which I can do when I first make the shape in Photoshop. However once I move on and click away from the custom shape I can no longer just cmd c and cmd v it into Illustrator. I know I can save the image as it's own .eps and place it into illustrator but i am trying to do it all in one step without creating extra files.

Hello, I am having trouble copying custom shapes from ps to ai. When I first create the shape I can just use cmd c and then cmd v in ai. However once I have a changed the tool in ps I cant seem to cut and paste it back in illustrator. What am I missing? I'm sure it's something simple.

Im having some difficulty applying a graphic style to a word. I outline the text and go to apply the graphic style, however unless I ungroup the outlined type only the stroke will be effected, not the fill. Everything I have read says it should work on groups. Any ideas what the issue maybe?

Hello everyone, I am doing some vector illustration and I am trying to use smart guides to match ellipses to rectangles. My goal is to match an ellipse to a rectangular negative space and then subtract the ellipse give the negative space a round interior. When I drag out the elipse I am not seeing it snap to the other object. This is leading to the ellipse not matching the shape I am cutting into. Attached is an example. You'll see the top and bottom of the ellipse do not match the lines. Is there a better way of doing this so everything matches? I am using AI cc 2019 on a mac

The guys installing the wrap do not have a template for the trailer I am wrapping. I am doing the measurements myself. I think I will probably just add 3in to the dimensions and give myself generous margins.
