I've been following along with a tutorial that state i should have a rocket in the control bar indicating if I am using my graphics prosseor. It doesnt seem to be there. This is all I have. Did something change in AI cc 2019?

I've been running into an odd problem recently. If i type a line of type and them enlarge it by dragging it bounding box the the size of the font is displayed incorreclty in the tool bar. It usually displays a very small font size and then another font size in parenthesis. The is presists even when I change the type manually in the tool bar. The only solution is to completely delete the text box and start fresh. Why is this? Here is an example of what I am talking about. I am using InDesign CC 2018 on a mac running high sierra.

Thanks for the link on how to optimize photoshop. I unchecked use graphics processor, adjusted the amount of RAM used and designated two scratch drives and that seemed to fix my issues with slow performance. Thank you very much!

I understand that dpi is not the same as resolution for devices. And yes I am using replace content to update the smart objects in the mock up template. How else would you do it? Also l had to increase the resolution of the smart object or else it appeared blurry in the mock up. What would be a better solution? Should I export the original pdf (in this case from Indesign) at 72dpi? This mockup is going to be used on my portfolio website so I need the image to be crisp and the details not to be blurred

I am attempting to mockup some existing print designs I have made for my website. I have found some premade mockups however they are all at 72 dpi. Because of the this when I link my files to the live objects my projects look blurry and low res. When I attempt to increase the resolution of the live objects to improve how they display ps lockups for several minutes and then continues to lock up any time I try to make any adjustments. I never had this problem with previous versions. How can I avoid this situation. I'd rather not display my work blurry and out of focus so I will need to find some way of up the resolution of the mock ups without crashing my computer. I am on an older Imac (mid-2011) however it has a 3.4 ghz i7 processor with 16gbs of ram and a AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1024MB graphics processor so it should still more then meet the minimum requirements for photoshop.

I am using the warp transform and wanted to know if there is a way to make sure the handles only move horizontal or vertical. I am trying to avoid any unwanted distortions. Usually you just hold shift but that doesnt seem to work in PS CC 2019.

It looks like there were some preset transform settings in the tool bar. Im not sure why by once I cleared those out everything went back to normal. I don't know why those settings were off.

Hello everyone. I am making a mockup in Photoshop. I have just placed a linked vector logo from Illustrator. As soon as I hit cmd t to bring up free transform it distorts the images. Mind you this is before I try and click any of the handles. I've noticed the height and width settings in the tool bar are set to uneven percentages. How do I keep this from happening? Height and width should both be at 100 by default before I start transforming.

I'm embarrassed to admit it but I honestly didn't know you could convert pdfs directly in Acrobat. It's odd acrobat can do it and not Photoshop.

That might be it. The image pixel size is 36000 wide. I didn't know there was a pixel limit on pdfs. Seems odd

Hi I am a digital printer. A customer provided me with a large jpeg to print. Unfortunately our rip software only accepts pdfs. I opened the jpeg in photoshop hoping to save it as a pdf but when I got to save as the the pdf option isn't available. I've never seen this before, Photoshop PDF has always been an option in the past. I am using Photoshop cc 20.0.4 on a Imac. This is what my options look like.

The file format is .pdf. I’m not sure how it was created. I double checked attributes and the Nonprinting option is not checked.

I am creating a multi page flier for a customer. I’ve done this three times a year for 5 years. For some reason there is one ad I placed that when I export disappears. I‘be tried removing the image and replacing it. I’ve also removed the master page formatting for that page as well but it still drops out every time I try to export. I’ve checked the link and it is good and the file for the ad isn’t anything special. This the only ad in the this flier with this issue. Does any one have any ideas?

Well it looks like that worked. It's to bad Photoshop doesn't just have an align to canvas. I think what was throwing me was the transform box still includes all art, even masked art. Thanks for all the help. I know this has been frustrating

So I can make your method work if I crop the psb however if I just mask the psb any transformations made to the smart object in the psd are based on the entire size of the psb including the masked area. This is my psb before masking. This is my psb after adding a mask This is the psd file with the updated smart object. Notice when I try to tranfsorm the smart object the bounding box is the size of the unmasked psb. What am I missing here?

Im sorry, I think I keep misunderstanding you. If Im understanding you correctly you you are speaking about centering objects with in a mask. What I am looking to do is to mask several objects and then center that on another layer. SO far the only solution I have found is to make a smart object out the original work, then edit that smart object, crop the original art work to the size I want, save that psb and then align the updated art work with the background layer. I tried to do the same thing with a mask but the smart object still seems to retain the same size as the object before it was masked. This is very frustrating.

I just re read your suggestion and that seems to be the solution. I create a smart object from my original work. Then edit that smart object as a .psb, save and then align the edited smart object. Im still not sure why when I attempt to crop the original art work it doesn't crop all the layers but this method at least gets me to a point where I can align the smart object. Thanks

When i have attempted to crop out the images past the canvas I have had that option selected. However some layers still do not crop. The layers that don't crop are linked if that helps.
