Generative expand/fill leaving lines where the fill created a new part of the image

Often when I use generative expand & fill to create a new part of my work, it leaves a line where the fill did its thing. I cannot figure out how to remove the line to create a smooth image. Instead it's obviously darker than whatever color my original image is, and leaves a line where I placed the box to create the fill. Any ideas how to fix/avoid this?

My example shows the vertical line on each side of the image where I used generative expand & fill.

Maybe use the Clone Stamp Tool with a soft brush to merge the join a little. Do it on a separate layer so it's none distructive, you can also experiment with the Opacity on the new layer (select Sample Current and Below).

I was also having same issue. What's helped me is using the lasso tool and making an uneven squiggly line when selecting my section to expand.

The last few weeks I've been having the same issue. The squiggly selection hack doesn't work for me, it just makes the transition line squiggly instead of straight.
