Gradient Layer Affecting Whole Canvas - Not Just Artboard!!

New Here ,
Feb 14, 2021 Feb 14, 2021

As above, I have a doc with lots of artboards

Everytime I create an adjustment gradient layer, it afects the whole document, creates a mask for the entire canvas

It must be simple, I'm sure I'm being an idiot but how do you set it so that it just afects the artbooard without having to create a seperate mask?

Thanks!

I think this is as expected and you do indeed need to create the appropriate Layers Masks or Vector Masks.

Photoshop just isn’t a page Layout application.

Three years later and I am having the same issue, I think thats an user pain point (perhaps  thanks to developer-stubbornes )

Gradients should have the option to work locally and globally in documents with artboards it is not complicated.

Adobe lacks of consistency accross platforms.
