Hello everyone
Sometimes I cannot find the opacity control icon in the gradient maps adjustment layer. How do I bring it up?
Thanks

If you creata a gradient map the opacity is set for each stop
If you place a gradient as an effect or a gradient map, the opacity is set for its layer

Somebody correct me if I’m wrong, but I think Opacity is disabled because it has probably never been available for a Gradient Map adjustment layer. Opacity applies to a Gradient Fill.
For a Gradient Fill layer, Opacity is supported because the gradient is spatial. But a Gradient Map is tonal, a remapping of layer levels to the levels in the applied gradient. On the Adjustments menu, Gradient Map is grouped with Invert, Polarize, Threshold, and Selective Color…Gradient Map is not grouped with Gradient Fill, so it’s an entirely different kind of thing altogether.

Not sure if some kinda mandela effect but I could've sworn we could control Opacity Stop in Gradient editor for the Gradient Map adjustment layer.
It doesn't even make any sense because we can still use gradient presets in the adjustment layer that have opacity. It's just the Opacity Stop text field that's greyed out. 😵
edit: I lied, at a glance it looks like the presets load with opacity controls but it doesn't actually respond accordingly. I guess there was no opacity controls all along? Odd oversight though.

In previous versions of Photoshop, the option for transparency was shown in the Gradient editor, but it never had any effect on Gradient Maps.
