So you still have this problem?

I've been having this problem for the past few days with almost all file types. Photoshop 25.4, Mac Ventura 13.6.3, just uninstalled and reinstalled PS and the problem persists. I tried the compositing solution suggested on this page and it worked for a minute or so until I started editing the file, then the grey screen returned. The PSD file itself seems fine and could even export a correct image, but the interface doesn't allow me to see what I'm doing. Thumbnails on the layers remain visible/accurate.

I just exported an entire gallery from CameraRaw (with no issues working on the RAW files) and now I can't open the jpegs (or any other jpegs or PSD files) in PhotoShop. The thumbnails appear in the Layers panel, looking just fine but the entire area where the actual image should be is all gray. (All other panels are in tact.)

I am also suddenly having the same issue. I can't open/do anything. Everything was working a couple of days ago? Has anyone found a fix for this?

@Staci28821494mjaf @JasonEdmunds I reverted back to the previous version of PhotoShop and everything works fine now. It all started with the newest update, I just didnt notice right away because I was only in CameraRaw and hadnt tried to use any Smart Objects. I hope reverting works for you, too!
Here's the fresh thread I started on the issue. Some Adobe employee was kind enough to want me to waste a bunch of my time doing nonsense that wasnt going to help me at all but has had nothing else to say on the issue.

Thanks @michelegranja - it's very tiring having to fiddle with settings when we're supposed to be working. Every photoshop update seems to bring its own problems lately.
I have managed to find a work around for now on the latest version, for future reference: Go to File > Settings > Performance and untick "Use Graphics Processor" - However this means a load of features are unavailable. But I can at least access my files to work today.

@JasonEdmunds it's absolutely maddening how terrifying every update is. After MONTHS of not being able to use the People Masking feature then having to find a workaround to be able to do ANY local adjustments, they're going to try and tell me I have to switch back to the new nersion to provide them with a video of the issue happening for more information. No thanks!
Glad the graphics processor box got you back in business... I couldnt bring myself to go that route after dealing with that kind of slowness for so many months... the old version doesnt seem to be lagging like crazy so far. Hopefully one day soon we will just all be able to do our jobs without this stress!
