My .psb has many layers all in groups.  How can I find the Group Name of a layer found in a search by 'Name'?

I see no other solution than a Script. (Except selecting the Layer, deactivating the search and looking up the »parental« groups in the Panel.)

Do you have JavaScript experience?

Layer 164 is a layer within a group.  How do I find the group name?

Your suggested solution worked (select layer and deactivate search).  thank you

If it is a frequent task for you you may still want to look into a Scripting approach if you have the time.

Maybe a Script could do what you want but please elaborate and post screenshots to clarify.
