Having Trouble with the Note Tool

Community Beginner ,

Hi all,

I'm working through the 2022 Photoshop course by Julienne Kost and I'm having some trouble with the Note Tool.

In the video she's able to select all of the text in a note just by clicking in the textbody once, and when she closes the Notes Tab, she's able to use shortcuts to swtich to a different tool.

Neither is working for me, I have to select the entire text manually and when I attempt to use a shortcut to switch tools, it just types out the lettered shortcut in the Notes panel, even when it's closed.

Neither is a big issue but I'd just like to know if there's something I'm doing wrong, if I have a preference set wrong, if it's just because I'm following an older course, or if it's just a bug with the software.

Thank you!

Something changed with the Note Tool recently. I only use it to teach. I have a hard time selecting it now. You should be able to slect the note tool and the panel pops open with the text already selected (highlighted). If it's not selected you should be able to do a cntr+a to select all then your copy paste shortcuts or just right click on the text to access copy. Your shortcut should includ cntr - preventing it from typing anything.
