help! my pen doesn't work in PS CS6

I have a wacom Cintiq, running the latest windows update.

I can get the pen to work:
-on the Cintiq screen (just navigating)
- In windows Paint
-in a trial version of PS CC 2019
-and Gimp.

It seems to only not work when I have PS CS6 open.
By "not work", I mean it doesn't affect the cursor at all.I'll have the tablet/pen setting open on another monitor and can see the pressure is registering. Pressure sensitivity isn't the issue. It's as if the pen isn't even being used. only the mouse moves the cursor while CS6 is open.

If I can't get this to work, then I can move over to Gimp, but I'd rather not.

If you use windows old cs# versions of Photoshop only support Pen via Wintab APIs.  So you need to Configure your Pen device driver not to use Windows INK APIs with Photoshop and you need to configure Your CC versions of Photoshop Not to use Windows INK APIs be adding the PsUserConfig.txt to your user ID Preferences folder for each version of Photoshop CC. I use a Wacom Intuos Pro tablet Mys Preferences ast set this way My Pen works in CS3, CS6, CC 214, CC 2-18 and CC 2019.

I didn't copy your userconfig.txt exactly because it seemed to include things that didn't apply. At first I tried it with just "# Use WinTab <break> UseSystemStylus 0" but that didn't work So I added some more, restarted. still nothing.

I have seen some fixes for the pressure sensitivity issue using this solution. So just to make sure you understand, this isn't a pressure issue. This is an issue of the pen not registering ANYTHING in CS6. I can't even save a file, or tab the X to quit photoshop using my pen. the cursor does not follow my pen. It was working fine a couple of weeks ago...

I just found someone who had a similar problem... but they are very broad when talking about their solution. Forum: Tablet doesn't move in Photoshop | DeviantArt
any idea how to accomplish this?

"I deactivated Tablet PC-input service(probably a different name in english)

Then I renamed the Tablet folder in the C:\programs folder and closed the running Tablet_something stuff in the taskmanager and restarted my PC."

I have had other problems woth my Intuos Pro ovet the years. Your cintiq configuration software looks quite simulat.  If there is a a utility ins the wacom software uset it to remove all user preferences close the utility down the use to creare a fresh new set of preferences.   I had to do that a few times in the past to get my tablet working properly. I think corrupt Wacom Preferences may be causing your problem.
