Help!! Unwanted diagonal lines drawn on Photoshop art

Hi, I am using a Dell Latitude E7270 PC with Windows 10, I cannot upgrade to Windows 11. I am currently using version 23.3.2 of Photoshop. Whenever I am using the paint brush or the eraser tool, diagonal lines are drawn over or erased from my image. I also use a Huion Kamvas 12 tablet. And I sometimes use the touchpad on the laptop when painting.  Is there a fix for this?

    Do you know which API is used by your tablet?  I am afraid I am not familiar with it.  There was a similar issue with Wacom tablets which was caused by using the Wintab API together with the PSUserconfig.txt file.  Since around 2017 it has been best to use Windows Ink.  Is that an option with your tablet?
