How can i hide "Copy Style" in history panel?

I want to hide this feature. I don't need it. When i open a finished project of mine, sometimes i need only layer styles. I don't wanna change anything on my project but when i make copy /paste layer, it changing project and fill my history panel unnecessary. I want to hide this like "Make Layer Visibility Changes Undoable" option. Please help me for this.

It's not possible. The only options we have are the five in History Options.

You can make a feature request to Adobe by starting a new post and choosing Ideas instead of Discussions.

A script can replace one or more history steps with a single step, which is the only other option that I can think of.

Developers are making updates that disrupt users' workflows and we have to beg for it to be optional? Why don't you think some updates should be optional? And you, Stephen, I don't understand how you can choose it as the correct answer instead of me!! I want a solution.

You may want it but if it does not exist in the most current Photoshop version that’s that. 

Feature Requests (Idea) and Bug Reports are registered at Adobe, otherwise this is essentially a user Forum, so please post a Feature Request if you feel strongly about the issue – as @jane-e already recommended.

What updates? History steps recording various commands isn't new. History states and snapshots are held in RAM, close the file and they are purged.

Marking a factual answer as a correct answer doesn't necessarily mean that there aren't other solutions. The forum software accepts multiple answers as correct.

That there is no solution to your particular niche requirement is another topic.

There may be a certain number of posts required before you can mark a reply as correct, just as there is for editing a post, I'm not sure.

I wouldn't expect copying a layer style to register in history. Paste yes, but not copy.

In v2019, copy style doesn't create a history step, but paste style does.

In v2021, copy style doesn't create a history step, but paste style does.

In v2024, copy style doesn't create a history step, but paste style does.

What am I missing?

Stephen, are you a dictator? This is a problem. If there is no solution, it should remain unsolved. It is not right to choose a comment as the correct answer instead of me! I am not yesterday's child. I have been using this software for 13 years. When there is a problem, I have to explain it. If they care about their customers' problems, the developers should see it. You can't decide for me that something is right! So what's the point of me being here? I can't believe you did this without even giving me a chance to answer!

Because of you, I got into ridiculous situations and I have a problem, and for this I have to go to the "Idea & Bug Report" section and explain my problem now! I hope I find a solution. No one listened to my problem in that section before.

Yes, I was wrong about something because the innovations that disrupt my work annoy me and I need to fix them. "Paste style" is not a problem. It can stay. But creating a history record to copy a layer's properties is completely unnecessary. I use the history panel a lot and it prevents me from making mistakes in my work. Therefore, this feature should definitely be optional.

The forum is a community, people come looking for answers, among other things. Having replies marked as a correct answer provides helpful identification for people looking for a resolution to the same issue.

Marking correct replies is part of the housekeeping of the forum, to help keep it maintained. Most authors don't mark one or more replies as correct, not because there isn't a factual answer, but rather they don't know the feature is there, or they don't care to use it. It's common practice for moderators and community experts to mark or unmark such replies as part of their forum volunteer duties.

Having one or more replies marked as a correct answer doesn't close down or lock the topic.

You don't like Jane's answer being marked as correct, either because you didn't mark it as so, or perhaps because you don't like that it is correct and you want a different, non factual answer to be true?  There is no way in the software to do what you are asking.

This is a user discussion. Ideas and bug reports are monitored by Adobe:

If you want different behaviour in the software, that's what an idea (feature request) labeled post is for. Or perhaps it's a bug. If identified as a bug, I believe that a moderator can change an idea post into a bug post.

Are you aware that the users who volunteer on this forum do not work for Adobe and cannot make changes to its applications? We can't add a sixth option to History Options any more than you can. Please adhere to the forum guidelines to be kind and respectful.

In Photoshop 2025 is does. 

So the OP’s observation that something has been changed seems valid, no matter the manners.

You haven't stated what version of Photoshop you are using. I can only assume v2025 or perhaps a public beta?

I tested in versions 2019, 2021 and 2024 and copy style isn't recorded in history. 

That it is being recorded is as @c.pfaffenbichler replied a recent change. So it's either by design or a bug.

Let's be clear - I agree with you, it seems unnecessary to record the copy in history, it's not a specific edit step that changes the file state. So paste style should be there, but I don't know why copy style is now included when it wasn't previously included in the history steps.
