How can I make a straight line slightly "off" so it appears more natural?

My hands shake too much to manually draw a line that looks straight.  A perfectly straight line is unnatural for my handdrawn illustration.  I'd like a line that is mostly straight, but has slight variance errors in it.  Is there a simple way to do this in photoshop?  Like draw a straight line and apply a noise/random offset effect to it?

Thank you

Have you tried turning up the Smoothing to 100% in the tool options bar?

Have you tried adding a bit of jitter to your brush?

check this screenshot that shows the brushes panel (F5 is the shortcut)
Results can be enhanced if you're working with a tablet, as you can adjust to the pen pressure)
I know that the line still feels straight, but you can increase the jitter and see if that works for you.

If you really want a natural line, then @Jeff Arola 's is the most straighforward...

You can mix jitter and smoothing! 😉

For more control one could also create a customized Displacement Map to use in the Filter Displace (as a Smart Filter).

Or its cousin, the Texturizer.

A somewhat complicated option would be a Solid Color Layer with a Feathered Layer Mask and a Cloud Layer with Blend Mode Hard Mix (at a slightly reduced Fill).

Been having similiar issues inserting continuing lines. I haave to work at the micro level (max magnification. The majority of the lines I work with are normally between 1 - 3 pixels.

Unless they have made major advances in the drawing tablets you will have to learn the nuances.

Submitted a suggestion yesterday for AI assisted feature to recognize the objective and assist in guiding the user,

There are some nice presets in the Kyle Megapack.  Load it if you don't already have it, (from the Brush panel options)

...and use the search tool to look for 'Sketch'
