Hey everyone,
I need to measure how much red I can find in a histological picture for my doctor thesis. I'm using a staining method that show the structures I want to visualize in red. Is there a way to measure those red structures? The problem is that the structures all have different kinds of red because they are stained with different intensity. Attached you can see examples of the staining (this is a vessel staining).
I hope somebody can help me.

I think you may want to select the structures and then evaluate the Histogram of a QuickMask.
Selecting them could be done with Select > Color Range for example.

Automating the evaluation of multiple images or even the evaluation of histograms in Photoshop in general might benefit from using Scripting.

There is a 123count tool in Photoshop that you might be able to use. I have been using PS since 1991 and never used this tool and have no clue how it works, but here is the manual:
