How can I set the gradient mask to keep what i've masked so far and then add to that mask?

For a while when I used the gradient mask, I was able to use the mask additively where instead of cancelling the mask I just drew and rewriting it over my next "stroke" it would keep what I created and then add to that mask?

Basically I have several sides of an image that I want to mask via opacity, so I would prefer not to have to keep applying the mask and then creating another one, but to have the opacity mask strokes be cumulative.

Currently I can create an opacity mask but when I draw another mask, it just cancels the previous gradient mask and then replaces it with the new mask.

Is there a setting I can change where it will be cumulative?

Hi @ambert12698468, thanks for reaching out!
You should be able to do that by setting the mode to Classic Gradient and making sure you’ve selected a gradient that includes transparency. Could you give that a try and let me know if it does the trick?
Thanks so much!

Choose the Black to Transparent Gradient. This will give you the option to add to what you have already created, and give you the cumulative effect you are looking for.
