How did I make this image? What Filter did I use?

I made an image back in 2012 and I want to make another using a similar effect but I can't remember how I did it.  The effect I would like to repeat is the "cut" or "exploding" apart.  I know how I did most of the rest but that isn't important.   Abstract1 forum size small.jpg

Being a beginnee, I did all the work on one layer and didn't use any method of telling myself how i made it - a mistake I no longer make!

I don't remember which version of PS I used but it may have been anything from CS to CS3.

I appreciate any suggestions - I'm going nuts trying to replicate the effect.

Cheers,

Jan.

Either you used a standard filter or a third party filter for this. Are you sure this was Photoshop and not Photoshop Elements?

It looks like one or more Distortion Filters to me.  Possibly Polar Coordinates & Twirl.

Looks like 3 filters, pixel, wave, and polar.

Whatever filter you used to get the patches in your image, the last filter you used was the Polar Coordinates.

Here is an image I played with:

Then I applied the Polar Coordinates filter:

and here is the final:

The final result is dependent on the images you put together, so if you remember how you did that, then the final step is Polar Coordinates.

Let us know how it turns out!
