Hello,
I am working on a project consisting of a background with black and white stripes. I am overlaying a shape on top of that. Is there any way to have it so that wherever the background is white, that section of the shape is black (and vice versa) without having to mask and manually erase and paint between the lines of the background? Any help would be much appreciated.
Bottom layer: Black and white stripes.
Middle layer: Heart Shape in white. Blending Mode: Difference
Top Layer: Type in white. Blending Mode: Difference
As you float the type or shape around the area the color break is automatic

It's truly lovely to see you thanking Professor Norman. He passed away just over two years ago, and we miss him. He was a lovely man, and clever as can be (he was a professor at Cooper Union in NY) We like to think that Norman lives on in the threads he responded to, so thank you for helping us remembering him.
