How do I make the feather white and background black (reverse)?

Hi

Make a selection of the feather and hit CTRL + J to copy that to a new layer, turn off the original layer

Make sure the foreground color is set to white, CTRL click on the layers thumbnail to make the selection active and then hit ALT + Delete to fill the selection with white

Hit CTRL + D to deselect

Add a new layer below the feather layer and fill with black
