Lately, if I try to place an image into Photoshop, it often places it inbetween pixels. Like half pixels. This often causes me troubles, because the image is not rendered as is, but instead "rethought" by photoshop, which means that if there is for example 1px line, this line changes into 2px lines or disappears completely. When there is text, it gets blurry and more bold... is there a way to stop photoshop doing that and process smart objects as they are?

Don't Place, use copy/paste instead.
Place creates a smart object, and smart objects are designed to honor the physical print size, not the pixel dimensions. The print size is calculated from the ppi value.
IOW, if ppi isn't the same, you get scaling and interpolation.
