Hello community, I am working on a logo design, and I am finding myself frustrated because I can't figure out how to turn one layer off and another on at the same time. this feature would help me quickly determine which of two options I would like to move forward with, which I constantly have to do in this sort of work. What ways can I achieve what I'm trying to do here? Thanks for any and all feedback.

You have to use layer comps:

    Photoshop layer comps

thanks that seemed to be what I needed. I do notice that if I select and drag across multiple layers, I can turn several layers off that were on, or several layers that were on, off. Can I drag in such as way that off layers turn on, and on layers turn off, in a single click? Photoshop only seems to recognize one kind, either on or off, when dragging to adjust layer visibility.

You have another option which may work for you: Alt/Opt + click on eyeball n front of layer/group will show only that layer/layer group and hide all others. One more Alt/Opt + click on eyeball will return you to the state before using this command/option.
