How do you import pictures from the internet onto photoshop page

New Here ,

I am trying to make a reference sheet for my digital art class in photoshop. I set up the page and layer according to my teacher's instruction but found that I could not drag pictures and props from Google onto the photoshop window like my instructor did with his demo. The pictures will not drag and appear on the page. Can someone help me with this?

Hi

First, make sure you check the copyright and have the rights to do so. Your instructor should have already discussed this — if not, then you can ask for clarification.

Second, the best practice is to right-click the image and save it to your hard drive, then open it in Photoshop. There are a few ways to do this. One is to choose File > Open in PS. Another is to right-click the image in Finder/File Explorer and choose Open in PS.

If you want them in the same document, you can drag and drop from Finder/File Explorer or choose File > Place. Both of these will make Smart Objects. You can also open multiple files and drag and drop.

There are several other ways to do both, but this is a start.

Ok, I think I understand. This is just for a homework assignment. It won't be published or anything. Thank you for helping me.

You're welcome. If you do run into issues, ask again.

Also, some websites add protection and you may not be able to use the Save command.

Hi,

do respect image copyright of course.

Most times you can click (maybe option click or right click) on a web image and select "download as" to a folder.

In some circumstances download been disabled so the best you can do is take a screenshot.

BUT only for personal use.

I'd make a desktop folder for the images for your project to make them easy to find.

Open in Photoshop as well as "open with" you can also select 'open' command in Photoshop's menu and navigate to the file, or just drag and drop the file to the PS app icon.

Next you'll want to check the image's ICC profile, if there is no ICC profile associated with the file you downloaded, generally assigning sRGB will be best. (check out "document profle" and "assign profile in Photoshop" online and you'll find tutorials.

I hope this helps

if so, please "like" my reply and if you're OK now, please mark it as "correct", so that others who have similar issues can see the solution

thanks
