How to create a spiral from an image?

I would like to create a spiral from a clock face or a line of text in photoshop, like the one in the attached image.

I have been looking evrywhere I can think of and searching everywhere using all sorts of syntax but to no avail.....

Please help

We've discussed this before. It's called Droste effect. Filter Forge has an effect that does it, but check out this thread to see who found the best method.
