How can someone distribute shapes/groups/objects equally that they have the same distance between each other and the boundary of the canvas? (All without measuring and by 1 click)

Align and distribute options are available in the options bar and Layer menu when multiple layers are selected. But unlike some other Adobe applications, Photoshop does not offer an option to align/distribute relative to canvas edges (only to other objects), so if you want the layers to align to canvas edges, you must first add two more layers at the edges so that you can also select those and include them in the distribution. For example, you might add a vertical line shape layer at the left edge, and another one at the right edge.

The distribution commands are well-hidden behind the ellipses (see Conrad's first screenshot).

If you are looking for a specified distance between the object on layers, though, Photoshop does not have that ability. You'll find it in Illustrator.

Another way to distribute as you go:

  • Draw circle using shape tool
  • Deselect circle actually path if it is selected
  • Press Ctrl/Cmd + Alt/Opt + T
  • Move shape
  • Confirm
  • Deselect path
  • Press Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Alt/Opt + T as many times as you want to create new shapes and distribute them evenly
