How to edit XMP file?

Hello! 

I have a xmp file that I use as colour profile in Lightroom, I now want to alter some of the settings in this xmp file, how do I do it? 

i have used text editor to open the xmp file but it doesn't fully show what changes were made to the xmp file.

 
is there a way to open this xmp file and edit it?

You can find XMP editors online that allow you to edit the file. Normal XMP metadata is read in Bridge and some can be edited there./

An XMP file is XML text. Adjustments are proprietary to Adobe and may or may not make sense. Note that an XMP file on its own is just a list of instructions.
