Okay, I give up. I'm a relatively new escapee from Lightroom, have been enjoying Bridge/ACR for a few months but CANNOT for the life of me figure out how to exit before/after view in ACR. Please explain how to return to full view of my image - not before/after. Esc shuts down ACR and sends me back to Bridge. Enter doesn't do anything. I simply want to exit before/after mode and get back to the basic panel. Thank you. Win 10, CC2019
It cycles 4 different before/after views and then returns. Just press the "Y" icon 5 times and it takes you back.
(I just figured that out; I use Lightroom for all raw processing 😉 )
Thank you - that works. I figured it was something very easy - so easy and obvious, you don't even need instructions lol

Letter Q is assigned to cycle through before after views. Have you tried with Shift + Q after entering b/a view? Press Q to compare then Shift + Q. Escape key will escape Camera Raw not b/a view.
Just to mention and another option which is available: click on Y and hold to see pop-up window the click on Preview Preferences where you can turn off three views and leave only one b/a view what will make things easy: first Q is b/a then second Q will take you back to single view.

Thank you - yes, Q works with or without the shift key. Yes - escape was not what I wanted. I knew it would be something simple. Much appreciated.

Letter Q will cycle through views. The first and view in use is single view, if you press Q it will take you to the first b/a view, next Q will give you second b/a view... If you add Shift then you are going backward, so if you have pressed Q you are in the first b/a view, pressing Shift + Q will take you bckward to single view, that was my suggestion.
If you prefer to click on Y then use Shift + click on Y.
