How to get a timed snapshot each time I save the Photoshop file

I have recently bought a new Windows 10 PC to replace my Windows 7 one. I have Photoshop CS6 installed on both.

Photoshop (on my old PC) automatically creates a timed snapshot in the History window whenever I save the file. This is useful, because it means that I can refer back to earlier iterations of the file (during that session) as I work.

I can’t find a way of getting my new PC to do this. When I save the Photoshop file as I am working, no timed snapshot is automatically created in History.

I would really appreciate any suggestions. Many thanks in advance.

Check out the »History Options« from the History Panel’s flyout-menu.

    Hi TheTurbot,

As I understand you're looking to create timed snapshots for Photoshop history actions.

This is possible with the help of scripting.

Could you please take a look at this similar discussion Save all history snapshots as files and let us know if that helps?

    Thanks,

    Akash
