Hi there,
I am very new here, just ordered a machine (a sublistar direct to film printer) but I didn't find ICC profile specifically for the printer.
Just wanted to ask, will the printed colors change a lot if I didn't use the ICC profile provided by the manufacture? Or if there is a way to create or correct the "correct" color profile by myself?
Cheers,
Jane
Yeah, busy day, sorry...
@_Jane_Doe_ you have two choices in the Photoshop print dialog: let Photoshop handle color management, or let the printer handle color management.
I don't know anything about direct-to-film printing, but I assume this is a specialized printer, and this will all be built into the printer driver. In that case you can choose "let the printer handle color management". Just to be safe, make sure your original file is in a standard color space like sRGB or Adobe RGB.

Hi Jane. I'll tag @D Fosse who knows about that stuff. It's 7am where he lives, so he might be a couple of hours.

If they do provide icc profiles, you can set that in the Print dialog and "let Photoshop handle color management". In most printing on paper situations, this gives you a bit more flexibility and potentially higher quality - but there shouldn't be any immediately visible differences in overall appearance between the two options.
Bottom line - I think I would approach this as a typical RTFM situation. Read the manual when you get it. I'm sure it will all be there 🙂

seems there are some product pages have icc profile download, just like DTF printer
not sure whether this is the one you ordered, if not, let's see if there is a way you can download this one and adjust to a new ICC file adapt your printer.

Hi there, this is a new reply I got from others, if there is a way to change and save as a new icc profile, please let me know.
Thanks!

Hi
I am trying to extend my color gamma to print colorful images in more than 6 colors. I am wondering if anybody knows where to find and download some Icc profiles to convert an RGB image into CMYK plus OGV (Orange, Green, and Violet) separations even for CMYK plus RGB (Red, Green and Blue)
Help appreciated
I do not have the device and software required to create my own profiles, that's why I am asking
