how do I get rid of photoshop 2026 home screen?

Yes, there are so many settings now that even the experts forget where all of them are. Here’s a tip for the future: Fortunately, Adobe added something that I thought was badly needed: A search feature in Preferences, at the top right corner of the Preferences dialog box.

If you know any words in the name of the setting you want, enter it into that search field. If the setting name turns up in the list of results, click that and Photoshop will take you to the panel where that setting is.

1. Uncheck "auto show home screen" in Preferences > general.

2. Open an image so the home screen is replaced with the standard workspace.

3. Close the image. Now you only have the standard Photoshop UI.

4. Close Photoshop.

Next time it opens, you should only get the standard UI.

thanks for reply but my problem is that I dont get that dropdown in GENERAL ! So I don't have the next thing to click and feel totally stuck!
