how to get the new camera raw 7.2 update?

most of our company computers are offline.

so how do we get the new camera raw 7.2 update?

until now they were always released as manual downloads.... now i have to read this from adobes blog:

Camera Raw 7.2 – Please use the update mechanism in Photoshop CS6

does that mean there will be no manual update anymore or is it not up yet?

While I don't have Lightroom installed, I just tried this: (1) Process a raw image in Camera Raw 7.2; adjust white balance, exposure, highlights and shadows, sharpening etc. (2) Save the raw file along with Camera Raw metadata (either as DNG or with an XMP sidecar file); do not render in TIFF or PSD format. (3) Open raw image with ACR 7.2 metadata in Photoshop CS5.

CS5 uses ACR 6.7 to open the ACR-7.2-adjusted raw image easily. No problem. And if it works this way then it also should work when you're using Lr 4.2 rather than ACR 7.2 to do your adjustments. If it doesn't then I guess something is wrong with your setup ... maybe you should try resetting Lightroom's, Bridge's, and Photoshop's preferences, or re-boot your machine.

How to obtain Adobe Camera Raw 7.2 (Tested on Windows 7x64)

You will need a computer with internet connection.

Start Bridge

Go to Help and click Updates

Adobe Application Manager will start

To make things easy go to preferences and in the "Only show updates for the following products" list select only "Photoshop Camera RAW 7" (Don't forget to check the others back after you finish!)

Click OK

Now in the Updates list you will only see Photoshop Camera Raw 7.2

Click the update button

After it downloads the update it will ask you to close Adobe Bridge to continue DO NOT CLOSE ADOBE BRIDGE! Just leave the window opened.

Open My Computer and navigate to

C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Temp\Adobe\AAMUpdater\PhotoshopCameraRaw7-7.0\7.2.82\Setup

(If you cannot see the AppData folder you will need to check "Show hidden files, folders and drives" in Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View tab)

In the Setup folder you will find all the files needed to install camera raw to another PC without internet connection. So just copy the Setup folder where you need to install camera raw.

Don't you read the threads you are answering to? Obtaining Camera Raw 7.2 is much easier than that. If you cannot or don't want to use the Adobe Application Manager then simply download the ACR 7.2 update file:

For Mac:

Camera Raw 7.2 - downloaded, put into our Updates Folder, ready for all those that need it in our enterprise.

Adobe: what on earth are you playing at? Some of us have bandwidth considerations, and time considerations. Why should we download the same file multiple times when once would do it?
