How to keep canvas in place when switching from file to file???

So I have several files open - want to flip back and forth between, but everytime I do this the canvas resets to a different view. How can I make this NOT happen?

Can you explain your set up, are you working on one monitor/dual monitors? What version are you currently working on? Mac/PC? Have you tried using the arrange tab options..? Like so...
