You didn't tell us how well you know Photoshop, so these instructions are brief, plus there are other ways. Please post again if you need clarification.

you're posting in a forum devoted to questions/issues about the adobe forums. because you have a photoshop issue, you should post inthe photoshop forum which is where your posts have been moved.
in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.

You can do what you like in Adobe Lightroom. It's called batch editing. That is the program that will work best. I do this when i have to edit dozens photos at one time! https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom/batch-edit.html

ExampleI am not having any luck. Have used Adobe CS6 a lot !!! - for years (which only works up to a certain OS and not later)!!! So this subscription is new1. Not having any luck finding open multiple.2. I used to click on say 4 images and each would open and I could move 3 out of the way so I could enlarge the canvas of starting image. Then select one of the other images and place it into my open area I am working on on my base image.3. I don't see arrange or tile. Don't understand why I want to create a new later. Just want all 4 images there and open so I can see all - not just one image - so I can drage the one I want onto my base layer.4. I don't want to hide any layer. Just want to drag the part I want to paste on to my base layer to size and position.5. Would like to see all my images I want to work with open at one time.I am really not understanding this.

Hi @NTC Ann
1. Open Multiple. This is part of macOS and nothing has changed since CS6.
On your Mac, do any of the following:
Select an item: Click the item. For example, in the Finder, click the icon for a document, folder, app, or disk.
Select multiple items: Press and hold the Command key, then click the items (they don’t need to be next to each other).
Select multiple items that are adjacent: Click the first item, then press the Shift key and click the last item. All items in between are included in the selection.
Details here on the Apple website:
https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/select-items-mchlp1378/mac
2. Photoshop switched to a tabbed interface in CS3, but has always given us the option to return to the old way. Most browsers use a tabbed interface as well.
If you want to turn off tabs and have floating Windows instead, go to Photoshop > Preferences > Workspace > Disable Open Documents as Tabs > Restart Photoshop
3. Tile All Vertically is in Window menu > Arrange. It's possible the documents need to be tabbed instead of floating to use it.
4. If you want to select and just move your selection and leave the part you don't want behind in the other image, you can do that. No one will stop you. Non-destructive editing means make the selection, then mask (hide) what you don't want. You can then fine-tune the mask if you made a mistake. Go ahead and do this step as you have been if your prefer and are used to it.
5. You can see all the image three ways:
If an image covers another image, you can move it or you can choose any open file from the bottom of the Window menu.
Does this answer your questions? Please ask again if you have more!

That should answer it if the OP reads carefully. I suspect this is about tabs vs. floating image windows.

I understand that this is old, but from reading the comments and the title, I strongly feel the OP was trying to figure out how to import multiple images onto one canvas or something along those lines. But I have no idea and the suspense is killing me!

There is also the Window > Arrange > Float All in Windows option as well.
Then there is File > Scripts > Load Files Into Stack
