Photoshop already has a quick export to png

You can use edit >> Keybaord shortcuts and set a new key here

Then when using the command change the name here. For example a common file naming strategy is to increase the 1 to a 2, and so on.

thanks, but i just want PS to save the file with a unique name each time, I don't want to have to deal with a pop-up rename dialog (100+ layers to export...) any ideas??

This requirement was not stated in your original post.

Are the layers uniquely named?

Have you looked at the script that comes with Photoshop: File > Export > Layers to Files

There are many scripts listed in the forum for saving incremental/versioned files, try a forum search...

Edit: here is an example – https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/save-copy-incrementally-with-javascri...

The layers are uniquely names, but I can't use layers>files because I need one layer to be visible in all exports, I wrote about it here:https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/how-to-export-individual-layers-with-...

I'm trying the 'save copy incrementally' script but it's just overwriting the same file each time I save, not creating new copies.

Ah, again, you didn't mention that you needed a common layer plus a single visible layer in each export. This changes things. The other topic is the correct one, this topic is a dead end. Are you @warpigs666 or are you @dadelphi or are you both?

I have the same problem. I have set a shortcut for "Quick Export as PNG-8". The only problem I have is it overwrites the previously saved file if the file name is the same without any warning. It needs a warning popup and a new "Save as" dialogue box (to rename the new file).

It's a while since I did anything like that, but I know I made the action save to a specific folder.  That way it used the existing file name.  There was a tiny problem in that it always used the same destination folder, so you had to either remake the Action, or use the destination folder as a temporary location, and move the processed files to their permanent location when done.  It worked fine.

@TenTin

Short of Adobe changing the programming, this could be scripted and a keyboard shortcut applied to the installed script. Although it isn't possible to script Export As/Quick Export – one could use Save for Web or even Save As code with a check for overwriting and renaming if the file exists.
