How to resolve "Error 2: photoshop is undefined."?

Keeps getting this error in Photoshop when saving an image or existing without saving.

    I deleted the beta and at some point I noticed the error. After another beta installation, normal Photoshop ran again. I think there is some connection here or a missing folder.

      This definitely solved the issue for me if anyone else is having this issue.

      I found version folders previous to 2024 in my Applications folder.  I deleted them and now everything works fine.

      I'm getting this error again with Photoshop 24.7.0 and then I'm getting this error below when opening to the Photoshop beta version. It just seemed Photoshop is getting more unstable.

      I think this problem started when I installed the Beta version and since then I'm continuing to have this popup error even though I have uninstalled/installed both Photoshop and Lightroom several times. It's still not working for me.

      I have the same issue, installed the beta version then uninstalled and now I can't go from LR to PS or save back.

      If i open as smart object from LR it opens in PS but saving I get the error 2 message, any more ideas ?

        Hi, did you manage to solve this? I have the exact problem on a brand new M1 Pro. 
        also did you ever install the 'beta' version of photoshop on your system ?

            I didn't do anything and it now just works. But thinking about it I had uninstalled the beta. 🤔 🤔

              Lots and lots of 3rd party plugins. Can you disable them by moving them out of the Plugin folder and try again.

              As background, Adobe has a bunch of scripts that help define how Photoshop, Bridge, and other apps function. This looks like an error from one of these scripts. If a new user account doesn't work, there are some ways to further troubleshoot.

              One question, do you have antivirus or other security software on your computer?

                Use Adobe Creative Cloud to uninstall Photoshop (keeping preferences should be OK), then reinstall: better?

                Try logging into another account (you may need to make one), still showing the error? 
                Try starting up in Safe mode (hold down Shift Key when booting), still showing this error? 

                I don't think this error would show if your privacy settings were not set correctly but worth looking into.

                In System Preferences (System Settings in Ventura), >Security & Privacy, >Full Disk Access, do you see Photoshop listed? If not, add it and try again.
