How to restore faded writing on old photographs

Hi,

I am fixing this photo up for my Grandfather and can not figure out how to restore the faded writing.

I have tried a range of tools and can not seem to restore the "pauls" writing.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do?

      I understand how meaningful this restoration is for you. To help with faded writing, I recommend trying the steps outlined in some of our community posts, as they might be more effective for your situation.

      Adjustment Layers may provide one approach, but as ged2016 mentioned you should post the (section of the) image.

      Hi,

      How do I attach a photo? It does not say anything on the menu for uploading pics?
