Using the resizing handle that shows up on the borders of an image, when I click and drag it to the left to stretch the image, the image as a whole enlarges. I am trying to stretch to the left without the whole picture enlarging with the change. How do I do this?

Hi Joo
You might also like to have a look at Edit > Contend Aware Scale This is a little bit of Photoshop magic. You select the area you want to stretch or collapse and Photoshop works out the content it thinks you want to to be unaffected. So in the example below it removed the space between the people but did not squash those people. Check out the lady on the left who has been tucked under the arm of the person next to her. It's clever stuff. You can also Protect an areas manualy.

Hello, as stated, either use shift to override the default (*), or uncheck the link icon between the height and lenght values in the option bar.
(*) The usual switch in Photoshop is Alt, whileShift usually means " the same" but, in this case, the old behavior was to have the movement be non proprotional, and Shift made the values change the same way.
