That's a binary encoded jsx file. You would have to decompile it to get the original source code. I haven't written one but it is theoretically possible. Maybe someone else on the interwebz has done it.

Don't expect much help. This format is used as a sort of DRM mechanism by professional scripters to keep their secret sauce a secret.

That seems to be just a plugin wrapper for the actual decoder in https://github.com/autoboosh/jsxbin-to-jsx-converter/releases which seems to be taken down. Sounds like someone grabbed the actual decoder from an Adobe product and modified it to decompile jsxbin. Although as someone depending on jsxbin format to protect my IPRs, I'm not totally bummed.

This seems a subject very complexo.Euinstalei the plugin in ExtendScript Toolkit.cc

C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Adobe \ Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit CC \ Required \ "folder convert"

C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Adobe \ Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit. CC \ Required \ "10application_changes.txt, 10application_changes.jsx and 1337jsxbinconverter.jsx"

Notice:

In the statement says to open the "file jsxbin" It creates a "JSX file" in the background but in mine here did not work:

Anyway I am very grateful for the help:

I think that it's not fair what you want to do actually, if the author didn't wanted to share his code then you should respect that, after all I'm guessing you are using his script and you are happy with it. If you just want to learn you can just ask on this forum how do others think the script was done, or maybe you should contact the author and ask him directly...

Do not disagree with your words, I think until you are right, the question is who repeatedly tried to contact the author but got no return. I close here Stephen Fry post. I'm new here in the forum and was always well matched when a request script.

I was actually considering offering this as a service. People would send me jsxbin files to decompile. I would contact the author to see if it's okay by them. If they say OK, then I do it. If I can't contact or find the author, then I do it.

I'm not really sure how many people would actually need this service, so I don't know if it would be worth my time getting this up and running. Normally, if something is interesting enough I'll just do it for myself. This is something that I'm not all that interested in or else I would have done it years ago like I did for decompiling droplets.

That's very interesting. How many versions of Binary are there, and would need a de-compiler for each?

I know we used CS3 to compile our scripts so that they would be compatible with all versions of Photoshop.

This is not really a compiled code, but obfuscation JSXBIN created with ESTK and used by an author, either when he wants to protect his creation or needs his code Javascript will not be changed in two minutes.

To reverse a JSXBIN code, there is only one solution per ESTK version..

But obfuscation is very interesting. If you search "obfuscation" "contest" with Google, you will find the International Obfuscated C Code Contest.

To answer your question, there is one solution per system and thousands of systems in C, Java, Lisp etc.

You must be very careful with softwares that propose to reverse JSXBIN, because there are very invasive viruses on the Web that could reverse your computer and your life, but not your code..

Thanks for your reply, I have done a bit more digging and found there are TWO versions, the first was introduced with CS3 this is version 1, from CS4 onwards it uses version 2.

It seems there various places where you can get version 2 decoded, or even download the software, but hav'nt found anywhere for version 1.

Sorry I will not reveal where these places are as many people want thier code obfuscated.

I thought there was one version per ESTK, but if you say that we are only on the second version, I was wrong.

And you are right not to reveal what youn know about that. It is easier and better for the mind (just a point of view) to learn Javascript for PS,

I would recommend using jsxBlind.jsx Indiscripts :: JsxBlind | The First JSXBIN Obfuscator for ExtendScript

As adding this makes the code more difficult to read/decode.

It does not work on Version one only version 2.
