I cannot open psdt/psd file in photoshop.

Every time I try to open a template I am trying to work on the app gives me an error message (could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document). I change the document back and forth from psd-psdt to try to get it to open and I get the same message. only happens on certain documents because I oppened similar documents (psd) before and they only seem to work when they want to (hit or miss).

We're sorry about the trouble with Photoshop as you're unable to open PSD files and getting a "Could not complete the request because it is not the right kind of document" error. Would you mind sharing the exact version of Photoshop you're on?

Please try the below-mentioned steps and check if that helps:-

• Open the file with File Explorer and go to View at the top. Then, make sure that the box associated with Filename extensions is checked.
  
• Next, right-click on the PSD file that is showing the error and choose Rename. Then, change the extension to the correct one.
• When prompted that the file might become unusable, click Yes to confirm the changing of the extension.

I am on PS version 23.0.2, my file name extension box is checked, and I changed them to psdt or psd files. they wouldnt open through my files folder but for some reason they open with winrar. I apreciate the help.
