Question

I have Photoshop CC 2015. How to update *everything* to 2019

UPDATE: 2015.5. Tools, settings, workspaces, menu shorcuts, keyboard assignments, function keys, interface prefs, etc etc WERE NOT COPIED or respected by any methods I have used. Adobe MUST realise that we want to keep the 100 hours of customisation that we have setup during the last 15 years.

I just tried to do the update to CC 2019 using the installer with options to keep my settings, but it did not take my workspaces, my actions, my colour palettes, etc

How do I get from 2015 without ten hours of recreating MY PERSONAL settings in 2019?

Do I need to delete/remove all of 2019 and try again somehow?

HELP !

I am finally on 2019 now. It was an incredible mess. Constantly hunting files in obscure library folders, exporting workspaces and keyboard shortcuts and application shortcuts and actions and tool presets again and again from PS 2015. There are still things missing.

This is an inexcusable nightmare for something I pay £10 per month for. There should be a CLEAR step by step set of instructions that FIRST SAY WARNING THE MIGRATION OPETION only does a little of what you want.

Software that is 30 years old should have managers that understand real customers better.

I'm on Windows so if you're on a MAC this won't be any help, the location for the settings are here

C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Settings

Not sure if over writing the settings from 2015 to 2019 will work as I never tried it

My TOOL presets did not copy over either. What a disaster.

Did you try exporting them out and importing them into 2019> Export and import presets You can bring your presets from one computer to another, or to an offline computer, by manually exporting them and then importing. The Export/Import Presets is not restricted to computers running Photoshop as part of Creative Cloud. SOURCE COMPUTER: On the computer that has the presets you want to migrate, do the following: Open Photoshop. Choose Edit > Presets > Export/Import Presets. Choose Export Presets. Select the desired presets and move them to the Presets To Export column. Click Export Presets. Select the folder to export your presets to. Choose a folder you can use to transfer the files using a USB drive, network, or an online sharing service. Click OK. TARGET COMPUTER: On the computer receiving the imported settings, do the following: Choose Edit > Presets > Export/Import Presets. Select Import Presets. Select the presets you want to import, or click Add All. If you saved your presets to a folder that is not the default, choose Select Import Folder, and select the appropriate folder. Click Import Presets.

You can disable that welcome screen in preferences

I did close this window and find the Edit > Presets and went to import them all (takes a while) >>>>>> WARNING pops up: Presets with the same names already exist in your Presets folder. Do you want to replace those files? Do I?

I did. But all the tool windows are not where I spent hours to set them up and put them. THIS IS WHY I HATE ADOBE UPGRADES.

I could not find Edit > Presets. I think you have to close the BIG welcome window that pops up with info I don't want. I just want my 2015 in 2019. I did close this window and find the Edit > Presets and went to import them all (takes a while)

>>>>>> WARNING pops up: Presets with the same names already exist in your Presets folder. Do you want to replace those files? Do I?
