Yes, you can set the Gradient tool to legacy mode in the options bar. Select "Classic Gradient" instead of "Gradient".

Running into the same problem. Gradients are not exporting correctly when compared to the actual designs.

I have the same problem!

Same issue with the legacy "export as". Also, gradients move when duplicating OR creating another artboard...How come new features like that are not properly tested before publishing ?

I'm having the same problem as well! The gradients look as they should on the Photoshop document, but when doing 'Export As' the artboard with the gradient on looks completely different to the way it should. Almost like the gradient has moved and become harsher.

We're working to fix this issue. Thanks for your understanding

It has been like this for months now. Maybe leave aside all those unnecessary and unethical AI tool and go work on stuff that actually matter for professionals.

Confirming this issue is still present in the latest build of Photoshop.

so, just to confirm, 6 months later, and on a version I updated today, this exporting issue still persists.

Dear employee,
It's currently 2024. Adobe's stock has risen 50%, and the price has increased across the board, and your team has yet to fix this issue since your empty, and thus unreliable response.
Please prioritize the basic functionality of your core software, or find a PM who will.

Since this was marked as solved, and has, in fact, not been solved, I went ahead and opened a new, near-identical bug report here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-bugs/improved-gradients-not-exporting-properly/id...

@Mihaela Psthanks for letting us know!
Are there any suggested work arounds or a way to set the gradient into a legacy mode in the meantime?
We've found that if we popped our gradient artwork into a smart layer it stays put on export and has been our work around for now so we can continue using gradients in our client work.

Thank you for the work around!!

Thank you so much for this work around. Helped me solve the issue!

Thus completely negating the whole idea of the improved and editable gradient. But yea, it fixed my export to conver it to a smart object. Unless you were doing something diffferent involving smart? (This is dumb.)

Yeah I got the same issue... and I'm freaking out!

I've been frustrated by the same issue. If you right click the gradient + layers beneath and convert to smart object, mine seems to come out better – maybe because the files are pre-rendered inside photoshop 🙂

I've got the same issue. Any gradient that has been exported as a PNG or JPEG has come out drastically different!

I've found that Save for Web (legacy) preserves the new gradients.

But only if you duplicate the artboard into a new file. I have terrible problems with my grey to light yellow gradient. grrrrr. I see that this has been a problem for a long while. I thought I was doing something wrong.
