In PS, apply the "Invert" transform to lightness only?

In Photoshop is is possible to do something like the Image>Adjustments>Invert transform, but have it apply only to Lightness? In other words, make the lights in the image dark, and the darks in the image light, but not change the hue and saturation?

Use L*A*B color and just invert the lightness channel. You can add a curves adjustment layer and just change the end points of the lightness channel.

In RGB, you can also use the an adjustment invert layer, and set it's blend mode to luminosity.
